The Column and Casket from TCM
Tobe Hooper's camera for the opening shot was placed off to the left in the middle of the driveway, looking to the column.
It's my belief that the tombstone in which the body(s) were sculpted on was a prop in itself for three reasons. One, that tombstone was not there when we arrived. Although I did notice a lot of tombstones that were either missing from my screen shots of TCM or they were falling apart. Two, the tombstone would have to have been in the middle of the driveway, and three, I don't think that Tobe would have defaced an actual tombstone out of respect for the deceased and their family. But I'm open for debates on that issue.
