Well, last night my wife and I and my drummer Brian Renel got drunk during a party we went to in New Braunfels, TX.  On the drive home, I decided to "swing by" Quick Hill since Brian had never been there.  This is about 2:45 AM on Sunday morning.  We found a different way to get on the hill and we took the back yard gate!  I'll have some pictures of the gate soon, but here's a still from TCM of what the gate looked like.  Click on it for a bigger shot of it.

We stole this gate from Quick Hill!

The gate still looks like it did in the movie, just a bit more weathered and a couple of pieces are missing.  My wife and I are still nursing our hangovers and laughing about what we did last night!

I got the chance to meet Ed Neal yesterday at the Austin Collectors Expo.  I took some pictures and had him sign some of my materials.  I realize that there are a couple of people out there that were wanting to join Gunnar and I to see Ed.  Fact is, I didn't know where Ed was going to be until yesterday morning and it was just a guess if we were to go to the right convention in the first place.  My wife, Gunnar and I went wandering around not really sure if it was the right place.  But fortunately, it was.  I also didn't want to send anyone on a wild goose chase for anyone that was to drive from out-of-town.

I've added another new section to my web site.  It's called Fan Stories.  Check it out!

I found the record of temperatures from 1973 for the Austin area.  Why am I interested in this?  Remember how the cast and crew complained about the heat in the house while they were filming the dinner scene?  I wanted to know what the temperatures were like outside while they were filming in the house.  Check out my updated Quick Hill FAQ page.

In other news, I finally got myself a video capture card!.  I'm taking cool stills from the Chainsaw DVD of bloopers, deleted scenes, and other stills that I have not found available on the net.  I'll also take stills from the movie to compare my pictures with to show the contrast of what the site looks today as opposed to 1973.  So keep an eye out for that!

The owners of TCM (namely Robert Kuhn) is sueing Raven Pictures because they claim that Raven butchered a deal to distribute the movie to overseas markets.  For more information on this breaking story, please go to http://www.austin360.com/news/1metro/1999/11/04massacre.html.

I have scanned and posted the autographed picture I got from Jim Siedow.  You can check that out here.  Also, I have more pictures from our fan Matt Lee Phillips to post to my Fan Foto page.  Check them out here.  Sorry for the long wait Matt!

In other news, my good friend Rick Balin informed me about a new Leatherface figure coming out...

"Just thought you might like to know that Spencer Gifts is coming out this month with an 18" Leatherface doll similar to the Freddy and Cryptkeeper dolls they sell now!  There's a full page ad in the new issue of Fangoria magazine on stands Nov. 9.  I subscribe, that's how I saw it already.  It looks pretty cool!  It's supposed to make a noise when pressed (probably a chainsaw sound) and he comes complete with blood and a chainsaw.  He also has on the proper clothing including apron and retails for $35.00.  In the ad there's a coupon for 15% off the price!  Just thought I'd pass that along to you.  None of the Buffalo Spencers has them yet."

Great info, Rick!  Now my wife has a stocking stuffer to get for me for x-mas!  (;->)
