Buzzzzzz What's being called a "reconceptualization" of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) is now hunkered down at Austin Studios at the old Robert Mueller Airport. The eight-week shoot begins mid-July in the Austin area. Joe Dishner, a Dallas-based veteran with 23 years' experience, is line producer. Leigh A. Wilbourn, Shanti Delsarte and K.J. Kernan of Austin are production coordinator, assistant PC and location manager, respectively. Marcus Nispel, famed for helming more than 1,000 music videos and commercials, will make his feature debut as director of the new film from Platinum Dunes (Michael Bay is one of the principals) and Radar Films. In the cult film remake, being scripted by Scott Kosan, teens out for a drive in rural Texas run into a clan of carnivorous crazies. |
