What radio and the press is saying about Jerry
Rigged:
Jerry Rigged’s first indie release is titled “Jerry Rigged Piano.” Appropriate, as all cuts on this roots-rock/country songwriter work are simply Jerry and his piano. If you’ve only heard him as an accomplished guitar player, you will find his choice of the keys very refreshing. Lyric driven and hook loaded songs include the fun “Down On Trailer Home Love,” deeply personal “Who Changed You,” and the touching, gospel flavored “Let Me Pretend,” are finding fans in Europe, New York, Missouri and Idaho as well as Texas.” Musicians Trade Journal
“Thank you for the package of Austin Music. I enjoyed all of them,
but the biggest surprise were the beautiful songs from Jerry Rigged.
Please thank Jerry for the beautiful piano tape.”
Oct/Nov 1998 (Letter to Local Flavor Record Shop)
Raymond Pieters, Radio Belgium-DJ who plays Jerry Rigged’s music on his program. Written about Jerry Rigged’s piano playing: “Phil Hurd’s CD, with his full band, The Blood of Keith, is spinning on the air in Belgium, The Netherlands, and New Zealand. And the frequency of his local gigs is picking up considerable. Bruce Istvan now plays bass, and Jerry Rigged has brought an even bigger sound to these Stonesy rockers with his keyboard.” Real Blues
Jerry Rigged has also had numerous songs featured on the “Humble Time”
radio broadcast, which is recorded, live each week and is broadcast on
nine different radio stations in central Texas.
June/July 98 The Jerry Rigged Band was a recent feature (6/7/99) on the popular Austin
Music Network program, “What’s the Cover?” Videos of the four songs
played live on the show are being shown on the 24-hour cable network.
